When someone leaves a voicemail, their number shows up for neither missed nor received calls. Pressing 5 after the message gives me the timestamp and the person's number, but only if he/she also uses Verizon. Is there any way that I can get my phone to give up the number?

hitting 5 should give you the phone number no matter what the person who called's carrier is. As for the problem of no missed call showing up in your log it is a problem where the call never actually made it to your phone. This is usually caused by not having very good reception. I know that in my dorm room here about half of my calls go to voicemail without the phone ever ringing because the service here fluctuates so much. (i can go from full service to no bars instantly)

you only get a missed call if your phone actually rings. If you dont have service your phone cant ring and therefore you cant have a missed call. As for getting the "outside caller" it usually means that they block/restrict their caller ID.

The people that called didn't restrict their numbers or anything. There are numbers that show up as missed calls that I can't get by pressing 5 in voicemail. Is it possibly set on something that it shouldn't be?
