Default Audiovox 8900 Opinions : New Thread

Now that this phone has been out for awhile and the firmware problems have been worked out, I am curious to know if people love it or hate it. How's the camera? speakerphone?

I still love mine dude. What do you want to know? Camera is prety good for a camera phone. the ability to store 50 640 x 480 pics is pretty cool too. The speaker phone is ok as long as you don't try and use it in too loud an environment.

I played with one a few weeks ago. I liked it. Much more than the 6000.

I bought it and returned it.
reasons good
speakerphone was good, but not like my timeport
calls were about the same in digital for a clear call.
picks were ok too.
reasons not so good
kept going into analog. Did not like that becuase the battery goes down very fast.
thought I could probably get the same thing later and cheaper when I need it like camera and get it now.
I would say do the 15 day trial before you buy if you do. I don't think it is a bad phone at all. Tons better than the old Motorola T720

I must reapeat that question...

Does this setting to force CDMA "stick" after a power cycle of the phone? Or does it just last a short time (like one call)?

Thanks

Yes, It ddoes stick after a power cycle. And it does help. My Analog coming up from the underground at Broadway Junction on the L train is now no more.

Yes I do like Yosemite Sam
Have not seen Bugs for awhile. I will probably change my icon about every 100 posts so far I use only 2 icons.

Anyway, I love Merry Melodies.

I think what WB (Ted Turner) has done since Chuck Jones left in 1999, then passed away in 2001; The new stuff is like a mockery of the old stuff 38-99. I even think Mel Blanc whould not like what is going on. see some of there stuff on the wb web site. Although I have not been there for 3 months so maybe it has gotten better.

Thanks NYCDru!!!
I wish I knew that when I had it
When I took the phone back, The guy who sold me the phone said that you could force it to digital; but, he said it would only last 30 sec or 1 call then probably back analog.
