CDM-8900: Pix and ringtone questions.

Hello all.

I've had my 8900 for about a week, and so far it seems to be an awesome little phone.

About pix:

I've got Verizon - and they claim the only way to get pix off the camera (i.e., onto a computer, etc.) is through the picture mail service. Is this true? I don't mind the $2.99/month for 20 pics to send, but I'd REALLY like to be able to put them on my computer without "sending" them.

I had an Ericsson t68i before this phone - with the camera attachment. I think I got spoiled by sending images to my computer or my wife's t68i through infrared! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img].

Would a data cable let me take the pix off the phone?

And about ringtones:

I'm very interested in making my OWN ringtones. Are they in MIDI format (*.mid)?? Any resources for creating my own ringtones would be great. I have Cool Edit Pro, which does allow midi sequencing - could this be of help to me?
