Voice Mail Indicator

In the 8600 the phone beeps once to indicate a voice mail message. If you didn't hear it ring you probably won't hear the one beep. Is there a way to set it so it beeps periodically?

yes there is a way to do this. What you have to do is go to messaging -->settings-->alert here there are options for how it should alert you of a message, there should be something like 'reminder' or something like that. At that point I am sure you can figure it out.

Thanks, but it still only rings once. How do you like the 4500, that was my other choice? I picked the 8600 because it was smaller and it is a tri mode phone

The reminder beep will remind you every minute after someone left a message. Works ok, but not very loud. However, if you have your phone on vibrate, it will remind you every minute that you have a message, and the vibrate feature will get your attention. I always tell people that are new to the 8600, that if you are looking for a phone that is small, has very good reception, decent battery life and decent call clarity then this is a good phone. If your concerned about ergonomics, ringers, phonebook, U.I. then this phone is not for you. I have dropped only 2 calls in a 7 week period and that includes long business trips, etc. My V120e and T720 would drops 1-2 calls per day. I know the LG phones are decent. I am familiar with the 4400 and that is a good phone, but I am not familiar with the 4500.
