Default One Touch (ok, Press) Voicemail on CDM8900

Hey, all. I just figured out how to program Speed Dial #2 to call my voicemail, and dial my password for me. Here's what I did:

I created a Phone Book entry for myself. In the Mobile Telephone Number I put *86TTT#XXXXTT1 (the Xs being your password.)

The 3 Ts are Timed Pauses. You press the left Softkey to get to the menu to chose that, and I just chose it 3 times (I couldn't figure out how to di it with a hard pause, but this works better, anyway) then did #and my password. So what I get is it dials VM, pauses for 3 seconds until I can hear my voice start to speak, then you hear the next 5 key presses (#XXXX) and a pause, and then the last 1 which takes you straight into new voicemails.

I had to use multiple timed pauses to get mine to work, if you can get it to work with 1 timed pause between, do that instead.

One other thing...for those who actually use the voice dial function, this can also be programmed with a voice tag. My voice tag for it is "Voice Mail." You have to set your voice tag, then key all the above functions in, but it works.

That's cool, but has anyone figured out how to do that to speed dial #1........ I could do it with every other phone I've ever had. The problem is that you can't edit the voice mail number, like in voice mail setup. Anyone got any thoughts?

Glad to be able to help! I've even got the number to my bank to check my account set up to dial automatically, so I can check my bank balance. I know, I've thought that putting my acct# in there isn't a good idea, but I'll deal with it if I lose the phone, or it gets stolen.

No, unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to key it to SD1. I have no idea why they did it this way. My CDM9500 didn't, you could program the V+ key perfectly.

Isn't technology great! who would have ever thought that these phones could do so much. I forgot about the bank thing.... I had it on my T720 but I feel lazy programming all those numbers back in, if you know what I mean. Has anyone used bitpim to access the phonebook or speed dials yet... I wonder if you can change sd1 from there. How about a cheap data cable that works. I noticed that the connector is the same as the lg vx6000.

I suggest if you must put your bank number in your phone, don't label the number + account number something obvious like "BANK". Label it something misleading. That's scary though, I would never put that as a speed dial. If you lose your phone, the thief will have your account number.

According to howardfurums.com the LG VX6000 works just fine. There are even links to drivers posted. See this thread:
