I have bought 2-car chargers for the CDM-8600 and niether of them worked with my phone. The red "power light" comes on, but the phone shows no sign of charging or that anything is connected. I was able to return one of the chargers, and I am trying to get hold of the internet company that sold me the other charger, but the will not return my calls or reply to my e-mails. Is there a "known" problem with the 8600 and car chargers? Besides the Verizon store which charges $39 for a charger, where can I get a car charger that I know will work?

When you have the car charger plugged in it doesn't show anything, the only way to tell that it is working is to watch the battery indicator and it will eventually show more bars as the battery charges. Went through two chargers myselfe before I found out. |

Even if the power is off the screen won't light up or anything? So the only way to tell, is if the battery is on 1-bar I should plug it in and in about 20-30 minutes I should notice another bar? Does the battery indicator blink? |

I have never tried it with the power off. I will try it on my way back to work and see what mine does, but with the power on it gives no indication of it charging other than the battery bars will eventually increase.

I'm back. Tried mine with the phone turned off and it did not give any indication of being pluged in or charging. Can't tell you much more as my battery is full so I can't tell if it charges with it turned off.
