Default Ring volume on 8600

Just got an 8600 about two weeks ago and really like the phone with the exception of the ringtone volume. I have it set to the highest settings and you still can't hear it ring half the time so I miss a lot of calls. I even downloaded a ringer off of their Brew site that I thought might be louder but no help, tried the vibrate but it's not to good in heavy work clothes.

I wondered if I had a data cable there would be a way to change the volume settings higher? Seems to me the problem is the sound for the ringer comes out of the earpiece, but when the phone is closed it kills the sound.

Default Ring volume on 8600

Just had an 8600, and got rid of it in favor of the 8900 for the exact same problem.
There is NO way to make that ringer louder, unless you want to hook it up to a pair of speakers. My advice to you; shell out the 50 $ and upgrade to the 8900. Not only is the ringer louder and the overall volume and reception superior-the user interface and build of the phone are superior as well.
To be honest, I thought the 8600 was a very dissapointing phone.
Hope that helps...

Default Ring volume on 8600

Been there don that, I had two 8900's and liked the phone but myselfe and all of the people in customer service at CellularOne could not get either one of them to connect to the wirellesweb properly. (See my post in the Central section for details) Spent about ten hours on the phone with them with no avail.

I think if someone would come out with an aftermarket outer face plate with holes in it, might cure the prob.
