So I took the plunge and got an 8600. For the most part I love it. All of the annoyances that people have voiced are true to thier word, but all things considered I really like the phone mostly because of it's size. I just have a couple of follow-up questions regarding issues I've seen come up while reading these threads. 1.) Can the PRL be down-graded to get rid of the "Verizon Wireless" indicator? 2.) How are people getting free WAP access? 3.) I live in NYC and am in the subway a lot. Is this phone a "no signal, no clock" phone. That is my biggest complaint so far. The thing that's wierd is that if you go into the WORLD CLOCK function, it appears to give the time in a 24hr format. But you have to scroll to NY or where ever because it always resets back to the 1st time zone. Maybe Verizon will offer something on Get It Now? Any thoughts. Thanks in advance. |

1) If you mean the "verizon wireless" that appears on the outside i do not believe there is any way to get rid of it. so you are stuck with it. 2) here is a link to a forum where i discussed how to get free WAP free wap forum 3)I have had this with a lot of phones that if you dont have service it wont tell you the time. I agree it is a pain in the ___, but I dont know of any way to resolve this problem |
