I believe that was the problem, they just needed to flash the phones with new firmware and everything is supposed to be all fixed.

I just went to the Verizon Website and the 8900 does not show up in the new york area.

I know. It was there for the weekend i got it and that was it. I have had mine for a few weeks and have been told that i am one of perhaps a single digit number of people in the city who have them.

Hey Tony,
I live here in the central valley and we have the v60 as well as the 8900. Everytime there is a problem with the 8900, the employees here say that the just "sold out" of the 8900. I am thinking of trading my 8900 in before the 15 days are up. I have about 4 days left. If I try a different phone do I get another 15 days for a trial run? The only reason I want to switch is because I am nervous of all the recalls etc. I feel like I bought a Hyundai car, it runs good, however it IS a Hyundai.
Any advice?

you get one 15 day trial. this means that if you switch phones you would get to try the other one for only the remaining 4 days on your trial period. But I also believe that they will not let you go back to the 8900 if you decide you want to. well unlike a car, if a cell phone "runs good" you are fine. Its not like its a HUGE investment which you cant change in a year if you are unsatisfied.

I did mean the employees here say that the 8900 is sold out everytime there is an "issue" with the phone. i just find that somewhat amusing. I did not receive thw pm that you sent on sat, only the one sent on fri. was this the last one? [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

ahh, got ya, that's what i was told at one of the stores, and when i mentioned re-called, the rep had no idea.

I scratched up my 8900 on NYE and since I was in my 15 day trial period, I called Verizon just now and they are sending me a NEW audi 8900 shipped to my house in 3-5 days. They didn't mention anything about the phone being recalled or anything.

Telesales is like a different division, most of the time i like to deal with them instead of going into a store.

Ive never seen the 8900 on verizons website (in the NYC area)...whats the deal, is this phone recalled, only being sold in selective areas, or just MIA? Whats the price also?

Oh it was there...for all of 6 days. From Thursday the 11th till Tuesday the 16th of December. It got pulled o the 16th and hasn't reapeared since. I still have min eand I still love mine though. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

The 8900 is not on Verizon's website for the Los Angeles area anymore. They have added the LG Vx4500.

Noticed the same for Inland Empire zip codes. (Of course VZ considers this area L.A. market too).

They also took off the Samsung a310 and looks like they replaced it with the Nokia 2285.

Is the 8900 still available in stores, or is this the end of the run fer this phone?
