Default 8900 software update

Today I went into the verizon Porter Ranch Store to buy a Adui 8900 to test out for 15 days (if I didn't like it I would get a lg 6000). They had them in stock and when I was going to buy it, one of the reps interrupted and said "The phone is real buggy and you will have problems", but I told them I will try it out for 15 days.

So I was ready to buy, but then another rep. interrupted my salesperson and said "I just saw an email today (from verizon corp.) that says the phone has to be flashed". Apparently there is a new software version out for the 8900 already, but unfortnately my store didn't have the 8900 cable to flash the phone with.

I really want to test out this phone with the new software update. I didn't ask what this update includes. I will wait until they get a 8900 flash cable (hopefully by the end of this weekend) and test it out.

If after 15 days it's garbage. LG 6000 here i come.

Check it out and let us know how it goes. The 6000 isn't that bad. I'm starting to become a believer.

If the updated 8900 doesn't come in the stores soon, I'm going to settle with a 6000. I might go with a 4400B even though I was disappointed in the coloring scheme.

Is it me or does the 4400B look better in the pictures rather than in person? I still feel like analog is important to me since I hit analog a lot and have made some calls in analog.

I returned the vx4400b because iit dropped service in a few spots in my house and couldn't hold a call everywere flawlesly. So far even with the minor bugs my 8900 has performed like a champ. If you go into analog/fringe coverage often it would definately be worth getting the 8900 for a trial in about a week.

Funny, I thought the same thing. But I still think it looks better than the original version.
