Ah.. getting so frustrated on deciding in which phone to get. I'm a current t-mobile customer gettin ready to switch to Verizon and I saw these two neat phones on sale for a great price. I've read all the forum stuff on both phones on here and on phonescoop and I'm thinkin I'm leaning towards the LG vx 6000. What phone would u get out the two and why? and can someone be nice enough to tell me the pro's and con's of each phone, if possible. Ah!!! I'm too young to have a heart attack and especially about a cell phone. P.S. - the thing I like about both these phones is the camera phone that comes along w/ it.. hehe.

i like to be un-biased when recommending a phone because i think that's one of the best ways to help those who are not sure about the quality of a phone and it's also an honest recommendation, that said with all the rants and complaints i've read on the 8900 and if i was going by reputation i would lean more towards the LGVX6000, i also was excited by the released of the 8900 because i've used the Audi 9500 and it's an excellent phone when it comes to RF, but then the 9500 was made by Toshiba not HYUNDAI, so if you must get a phone right now i would recommend the VX6000 or you can also wait for the 9900 which will be made by Toshiba and will have 15 seconds of streaming video. just in case you didn't cath the reply on your thread from the LG forum.

Wishblade, depending on your taste of the phone will most likely determine which phone you will get. Honestly, I think the style of the 8900 looks better than the vx6000, plus the 8900 has analog whereas the 6000 is a pure digital phone. That may not be that important but in case you travel to the country for some country lovin you may run in to some problems with the 6000. LG phones are pretty easy to navigate through as far as menu and whatnot. I am in the same predicament but I will probably go with the 8900. My brother is getting the 6000 (had some problems with the vx4400....another thing for Tony E to hear about) and I will kepp everyone posted on how he likes it. But you may want to keep your eyes open for the 9900.

Oh man, I'm still dazed and confused.. Everyone I've talked to online says I should go w/ the LG vx6000, but all the people I talked to who works for Verizon says that the Audiovox is way better overall.. One guy in particular says he got more problems w/ the LG 6000 phones than the Audiovox one. Ah!!!

Wishblade -- I would personally get the 8900; But I will state my only reason for this is the fact that it supports analog. I have not actually tried out the 8900 (other than just looking at it in the store) While i did have the VX6000 and I think its a great phone, I think that the 8900 would win just because of analog.

Eh oriloes, I see that you have an 8600 are satisfied with it? And does it have vibrate/ring same time? I am very saddend about the recall of the 8900. Looks like I will be forced to get the 6000. LG wins by disqualification.

i dont want a quirky phone. i want a solid reliable phone. why would i pay MORE money for a screen that offers me LESS?... I have yet to encounter a place where i have no digital signal and i travel around quite a bit...

My wife got the VX6000 and then the 8900 came out. Since we wre within the 15 days, we went to look at it. The sales rep didn't reccomend it, even though the 8900 cost more. He even gave her account a $20 credit, since the rebate on the 6000 had gone from $50 to $70. We also took test pictures and the 6000 picture looked better.

when you transfer them to the computer (assuming the quality of the CMOS and such) the pictures should theoretically look all the same...but with teh vx6000, if the picture isnt how u like it, you are able to change some settings to improve it...the 8900 (which is also MORE expensive) DOES NOT offer you that ability... I like the 8600; I havent had any major problems with it. My main problem with it is the blinking "Verizon Wireless" on the outside. Other than that it works pretty well. The spearkerphone isnt great, but it works if in a quiet room, or for listening to messages. (i find the other person has more of a problem hearing me than I have hearing them when using the speakerphone) It does not ring and vibrate at the same time, what it does is vibrates twice, then starts ringing. At first I was mad that it didnt do it concurrently, but i have found it doesnt really matter, I either feel the vibrateion or hear the ringer...i dont need both at the same time!

It is being recalled because it has a problem with number portability. if you are not bringing your number from another company over, it will be fine. But also jayc said that they have a software upgrade that will be in stores this week that will fix this issue. So it really doesnt seem like much of a problem.

I think some poeple here are like the person who goes out and buys a car with a manual transmission, and then complains loudly that the car doesn't shift gears automatically.

I do not know the details of the problem, but from what I have been reading on this forum is that it IS a software issue that occurs when porting a number to Verizon. I mean a cell phone, like a computer the software can become corrupt when misprogrammed (and can affect certain certain features).
