wow that's a tuff one right now because the 8900 is fairly new and we are just reading up on pros and cons on the 8900, maybe Nycdru who just got this phone yesterday will hit you up with some info, in the meantime just read through the 8900 threads and that should give you an idea for now, there is also a link there posted by Crazyboy that has a review.
As far as the vx6000 goes you can't go wrong with it unless you're in an area that has poor digital coverage being that the 6K is all digital, which in this case the 8900 is tri-mode and has an edge when it comes to analog coverage. You can also hit the LG forum, i have a thread there title LGVX6000 you guys happy so far?, there's alot of feedback there regarding the 6k.
You can always get the 8900 try it out and if you don't like it you can exchanged for the 6K within 14 days. hope that helps.

Im faced with the same decision tomorow. I believe I am going to buy one of those phones and the guy said I can buy the phone and have the service put on on a certain day. Im going to put off service until Christmas because that is when my AT&T contract is up, but rather then go through all of the trouble, I might just get the service and have 2 phones for a while and cancel AT&T on Christmas.

Yea see the bad thing is I havent gotten the chance to play around with the Audiovox yet, whereas I have with the lg vx 6000. I love the vx 6000 and know its pros and cons. I know that I dont need a phone with analog on it becuase I have already seen how the vx 6000 works in my area. So im basing my choice on how the audiovox performs and its features basically.

then if that's the case i will direct Nycdru to this thread or just read his post, he will be giving us more reviews about the 8900, and like i said, read the link that Crazy posted on the other thread, so you can get a general idea of how the 8900 performs. just try to post your questions on the other thread so that we don't have to be jumping back n forth

My review on the 8900 is brief….I have had the phone only two days now and….so far, so good. Great display, great menu format, great pictures, great battery life (from what I can tell so far), very good sound quality, great reception (better than my old v60i), and the phone is good looking.

The only think I wish this phone had, is more, and better ring tones from which to choose.

I say go for the 8900….it doesn’t hurt to have the analog back up.
