I did look around for these answers for a second but thought it best to start fresh. Thanks for the help. 1. On my old Nokia phone, I was able to access recently-dialed calls and my phone book without having to go through the menu system. Is there a way to do this on the 8600? 2. Can I create my own ringtones in some fashion rather than downloading someone elses tones? (Somebody on here called it a WAP system, maybe?) 3. I do not have the software that includes the #6 option under alerts which would disengage the intro/outro tune. How do I upgrade this (I just got the phone 3 days ago, shouldn't it have come with the most recent upgrade?)? 4. As many have asked, is there a way to remove the Verizon Wireless advertisement from the outer LCD display? 5. How do I set up a phone number to have pauses for voicemail access, etc.? That's enough for now...thanks again everyone. |

here are your answers: 1) just hit the green button (send button) and it brings up the last 20 calls you have dialed. 2) nope, there is no real way to create your own Ringtone. WAP is being able to use the wireless web without paying Verizon for the feature. 3) I am not quite so sure what to do about this, I am in the same delema. I would talk to Verizon (I am planning on doing that at somepoint but life has just been to busy for me to get over to a store lately) When I do get a chance to go I will post what they say. 4) As of now there is no way to remove the Verizon Wireless 'advertisement' from the outside. When I talked to Verizon about this they said it might be turned off in a new software release, but for now there isnt anything yet. 5) I posted an extensive answer to this in thread: Click Here I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, just ask them! |

wanted to make a comment from what i can tell about the option six to change the one off meledy. The person i saw a post from that told abotu that option was on a different cerivice provider than verizon. Since software can be ordered differently for each provider this may be soemthing that verizon for some odd reason never cared to have added or had it removed. So there may not be a new software release out yet for the verizon verision. it would be nice to find out though. Maybe it will be included whenever the next revision comes out
