Has anyone figured out how to make the SUB LCD not switch back and forth between "Verizon Wireless" and the time/date/caller ID? I find this VERY annoying that the phone will display "Verizon Wireless" even when i am getting an incoming call. Of course if i wait a few seconds it will then switch back over and show me the number of the caller, but its still annoying. Any help is appreciated!

I honestly am not sure. I believe there are supposed to be changeable faceplates but I havent seen any, nor do I see an easy way to change the face-plate. While it does look possible, I do not see any easy way to take off the current faceplate. (other than just pulling, which looks like it may work, but I am scared to try, since I dont want to break the phone) Also there is nothing in the manual about changing faceplates. So I guess the answer to your question is I am not really sure.

I don;t think its a firmware issue. All i know is that if the prl was updated this started happening to people's phones. I have not updated my prl because of this. Mine doesn;t displace verizonwireless and am tryign to keep it that way. the fac tthat it blocks the caller id is really annoying . any go into an extended network area to see if it changes at all? |

if thats the case, you could edit it out of the PRL, but since no one has done that yet, that may be quite risky

hmmm, interesitng mine is 50110. I wonder when it was updated. Do you think they upgraded it when i bought it in the store? Mine is having a problem where the bottom of the screen is a little washed out so I am going to take it back to Verizon today for them to take a look at it and hopefully replace it; Ill see if i can get it with PRL 50109 this time!

well i got my phone replaced today and they said that maybe in a software update in the future they would get rid of the "Verizon Wireless" but he didnt really know. Also he seemed to think that there are changeable faceplates for it but they just have not gotten them in stock yet (though the guy did not seem to sure about that) And I emailed Verizon about faceplates and they sent me a standard email not answering my question.
