Will be around soon, just got the "dummy" model in for displays. very very cool looking, just about the same size as a samsung a530 and Trimode to boot! I did get to play with a working model from our Audiovox rep, hopefully it was an early model because it felt kind of cheap and the speaker phone quality was not really good... but that was about 4 months ago or more. If it is like the dummy model in feel then they deff made improvements. hopefully this is the one im waiting for =/

We just got the 8600 Dummies in as well. Not too impressed with the look. The outside LCD is a little large for as small as the phone is. Looks odd, but id imagine on the real deal its convenient. Ill save the review for the live model though.

Can you guys could let me know when you receive the real shipment of these phones? Also do you know what the pricing is going to be on this phone? I mean I check Verizon's site pretty much every day to see if the phone is out, but as we all know their site is sometimes a little screwy and doesnt always have the most up-to-date info. Thanks |

andrewparker -- you are saying that your main problem with this phone is that its too small? How are the rest of the features? Does the screen look good? How is the reception on the phone (is it better or worse than your past phones). Also have you tried the speaker phone? If so does it work well? Are tehre any other things you have noticed about the phone that were really exceptional or really sub-par? Oh, and how much did the phone cost?

the phone being small isnt really a problem...its just something that takes getting used to...im used to a nokia 3585, with alot of space in between the keys...um...speaker phone is sortof weak in my opinion...havent used it that much to tell...the reception on the phone is not as good as my previous phones...i was to the point today that i was about to return it today, as soon as i walked in mcdonalds it lost the call. screen is very nice...thats the thing that made me buy this phone...oh and the price i paid is $150...

hmm, thanks for the info...it sounds a little disapointing unfortunately. I guess I will just have to see about it for myself in a few weeks when Verizon releases it.

Well, Ive seen the dummy phone as well -- of course you cant tell much from a dummy, but first impressions are that its not very pleasing to the eye. the outer CID display is a li'l too big for the phone, looks awkward. I just hope it doesnt follow in the footsteps of previously crappy audiovox phones. Seems to be promising with the color screen and the speaker phone, although i havent had a chance to try either out yet. Guess we'll see!

just got some accessories in.... im guessing by the end of the month. current rebates expire on the 28th that usually means two things: 1) new phone(s) or new promos 2) or they ship new rebates ;~)

Talked to my VZW rep here in NE Iowa yesterday afternoon. He has the dummy phone and plenty of accessories, but no date on the phone. He also mentioned that this weekend is their time for national inventory so he didn't expect any more inventory to come in until a few weeks into Oct. |

I just got off the phone with Audiovox Corporate sales...they said that they already shipped Verizon, over 5000 of the CDM8600 phones, and they are in their warehouses already...they said Verizon will be launching them the first week in October with a big campaign like they did when the T720 was launched a year ago...blah blah blah... they will retail for $149.00 with a $50 mail in rebate!! I hope its worth the wait....but then again ....I HATE MY T720!! worst phone ever!! |

Its easier if you all just post the info once in one of the forums. If you had just posted it in this one what you had to say would have gotten to just as many people, and at the same time would not have made a lot of us read through the same thing 3 times. just a thought....

Actually I liked the 9500 it was just poorly designed... We've had the 8600's in the store for well over a week now in the inventory room. I took one out and played with it... it does feel kind of cheap to me imo especially campred to the Samsung A530 and I'll agree the outside caller ID is rather ugly. The internal display seems nice. I didn't have an activated 8600 so can't really give any feedback there. I can't wait until we get this phone because our phone selection is starting to suck... VX10 is discontinued and gone, Samsung A310's have been out of stock for quite a while. LG VX3100's don't seem to perform well. |
