Well, just got back from using search and I found no results for three rounds. So.. is this going to be a Verizon phone, or Sprint phone? And does anybody know when it will be released? Audiovox CDM-8900 If you'll notice.. under the description, it says "BREW (or Java - carrier-dependent)" as if perhaps it will be released for both Verizon & Sprint or Phonescoop simply doesn't know which will have it. Thanks, ahead of time. |

sprint does carry phones that have AMPS 800. Their website says "Dual band" as the heading for their phones, but if you look closely in their detailed descriptions you will see that it says tri-mode. If you look at (for example) the new Sanyo 8100 in its detailed description it says "Band Type: Dual Band and Tri Mode"

Me like I think this will be a good phone for verizon and alltel. It will also sell well with AMPS Jack

I doubt Verizon would get this phone. Don't forget about Virgin Mobile, Alltel, or USCC...they could pick up the phone too I suppose. Since apparently no carrier has signed off on it yet, it's also possible that it will never see the light of day.

matt thats what i was thinking. especially if it has analog, although verizon could request the analog be shut off like they did with the i700 etc...

Interesting! I didnt even know that Verizon was even testing this phone. That would be very cool if they came out with it (it looks like a VERY nice phone). Not that I could get it since I just got the 8600. Oh well...

Verizon already has the description site prepared: http://www.verizonwireless.com/ics/p...ovox%20CDM8900. According to numerous posts in the Verizon forum on phonescoop.com, the phone will be available on 12/12/03. |

They are already selling them at my local Verizon store. I really like it. They have them to play with. The ringtones are really loud. The side of the phone lights up blue when it recieves a call and when it turns on and off. I thought the LG VX6000 was going to be my next phone but I have a strong feeling I am going to get this phone.

The phone is fairly thin. I was in the store again today. The phone has 5 normal ringtones and 3 music rings. The ringtones are loud as he!! and when the phone turns off you hear a sound that sounds like an airplane going by and music and hot air balloons go over the outside screen. The camera is great. I really like this phone and I plan on getting it. The phone gets about the same reception as the VX6000 when comparing next to each other. This phone comes a little bare though. There are 7 ringtones and only 3 background choices, Normal, Flower, and Picture.

there are about 10 musical ringers, 3 "music" ringers (like polyphonic) and 5 "bell" ringers ringer volume is comparable to the T730, i dont think they are as loud as the 4400.
