Does anyone know the reason that allltel branded the 9500 a Toshiba and why verizon called it a audiovox? I also prefer the color choice of the toshiba. I think the blue is very classy Jack

The 9500 is a Toshiba-made phone. Audiovox has distribution rights for this product, and Verizon has a contract with Audiovox. Therefore, Verizon customers get the Audiovox version, which is customized for Verizon (Verizon sticker, Verizon start-up animation, "Get it Now" in the menu rather than "Brew," etc.). The phones are exactly the same (albeit the color, customized settings, etc.). Alltel users can take the Audiovox and use it with Alltel and vice versa for Verizon users. Personally, I like the silver.

I'm with Jack...I saw an Alltel version of this phone and I think it looks nicer than the silver sold by Verizon.

With the blue phone I think a blue backlight would look really good Jack
