According to phonescoop.com... Audiovox 9500 is 0.4" taller, but 0.2" less wide, and the thickness is the same. Since most people with the 9500 probably make the switch to using the extended battery for better life, the thickness changes to just under 0.925." With respect to quality, I don't think there's another phone out there that matches the build quality, sound quality, and reception handling of the 9500.

Oh man, I used to use an A460 on Sprint. I would rather carry a bag phone around than use that piece of trash! The 9500 is SO much better than the A460. The think the 9500 looks bigger than it actually is. I don't know if it is the color scheme of the phone or the design lines or what though. Also, I have read posts of people complaining they can't put the 9500 in their jeans pockets. They must have been wearing Wranglers because I had no problems with the 9500 in my pocket, even with the extended battery.

Agreed - it is not as big as many claim and it is one of the best phones out there right now. Suliman |

How lucky was I? This weekend, I was looking to switch from Sprint to Verizon. I went into a Radio Shack ready to buy 2 phones and get on the Am. Choice Family Plan. I had a Sprint Samsung A460, and this guy in the store expressed an interest in my phone. Then when he heard I was needing to buy new Verizon phones, he offered to trade me, straight up, his CDM9500 for my Samsung A460. At the time I had nto idea JUST how good a phone this was, but I knew I had gotten a heck of a deal just by looking at it. Color, Get it Now, Speakerphone, Text Messaging...and then I come here, and CDMAngles, and see the glowing praises you guys seem to sing. I am SO lucky! As far as comparison in size, yes the 9500 is bigger, but mostly in height, and the screen is so LARGE and BRIGHT, and the colors so CRISP. I'm a fairly small woman, and I have no problems sticking it in my front pocket. Love it, love it! |

Is this some kind of April Fool's joke??? Because if your story is true, the guy you traded with is a FOOL. I wouldn't trade four A460's for a 9500. Any chance this FOOL has another 9500 laying around that he doesn't want? I got 20 bucks for him if he does!

No, this was not an April Fool's joke. This actually happened to me Saturday night. No, he's not with Verizon anymore, and only had the one 9500. I did, however, see 9500's for sale in my local Verizon store Sunday. Like I said, I know I was getting a great deal in trade, just didn't know how good until I came here. :-) |

Lucky you. No more 9500's here, and I can't afford one anyway. I am happy with my phone anyway, as long as it doesn't break

Danariel, please let me know if that guy goes into the car business. I've got a 8 year old pickup I'd like to trade for a 'vette. AnthroMatt. C'mon now. You've had that phone for close to a month. You know your palm is itchy.
