Question Looking to upgrade from 9900

Hi Gang.

I'm looking to upgrade from my 9900 soon. I've had a number of phones in the past and this phone (though not the prettiest) has been the best of the bunch. Call retention and clarity have been outstanding. Never a dropped call on my side. I'd like to upgrade to a similar phone, perhaps with some bells and whistles, but thats no overly important.

I heard that the 9900 was the last Audiovox made by Toshiba. Is that correct? If true, that bites! UTS? Are these phones comparable to the Toshiba phones? Should I be looking for a new brand?

Thanks!

Oppie

They may be great phones, but there was sure a lot more information sharing in LG and Moto forums

Sorry no information for you on the 9900, but I did want to say you are not the only one, there is not much information sharing on the Nokia forum either and they are also great phones. .

I do have the LG 7000 for Verizon but truthfully I am not happy with the reception,I do live in Verizon's black hole though. However, the call clarity is fantastic when there is good reception.

Hi Charlee. I'm glad I got at least one reply! LOL. I had an LG in the past and i too was disappointed in the reception as well as the call retention. The 9900 has been great but almost time to move on. Verizon's black hole? Has to be in Wisconsin . Happy holidays! Jeff

LOL, yep's that what we are famous for, Verizon's Black Hole & Dairy Products and in that order.

About other Verizon phones, there is 2 that caught my attention and I have heard good things about, but no personal experience:

Moto e815 and Nokia 6236i. From my biased point of view you cannot beat the reception and call clarity of a Nokia. The 6236i also has FM radio and infrared.

The e815 has BT, so I guess I would choose the e815 strictly because of the BT.

Ok now you got 2 replies, even though they are both from the same person.....

I've seen the Moto to which you refer. Nice phone. However, I can't stand the typical Moto phone book menu, so I'll stay clear. I haven't had a Nokia in 7 years or so. The last one I had was a 915 or 917...something like that. VZW was Airtouch or GTE at the time. In any event, I'll look for that Nokia. I am partial to clamshell phones, however. We'll see.

I managed to extort two replies. That's not bad for this particular forum. Actually, that's down right outstanding!
Enjoy life in your digital black hole this holiday season. May our posts cross again!
