What is the best wireless phone using A T & T for an elderly parent for ease of use and volume clarity?

This is not so easy to answer. What I would suggest though is to go to an AT&T store and check out the different phones. I'd stay with the basic clam-shell versions.

AT&T sells a lot of "messaging" phones with slide-out keyboards, of which are QWERTY. Your parent does not need this.

You should be able to get a good phone for free* (under contract, of course). Maybe a basic Samsung or Motorola. I highly recommend Nokia.

Not sure about Pantech, but check them out anyway.

Check out the AT&T site to get an idea of what you can zero in on at the store. This is how you'll learn if there is a phone to meet you're specific needs.

Good luck and welcome to Wireless Advisor.

My first guess would be the Pantech Breeze. It has large buttons, and a few dedicated speed dial buttons. The display is pretty big too.

There is Jitterbug which targets seniors. They now run on Verizon's network.

I thought about suggesting this, but because the OP asked about AT&T phones specifically, I left it out.

If money is not that big of an issue get a Clarity Life C900

ClarityLife C900 Amplified Mobile Phone - Clarity

Buy it from the website and then swap out the SIM card. You could get the nicest free phone from ATT and sell it on EBay to offset the cost.

It's funny because my grandma just got a blackberry and I tease her that the Clarity is more appropriate for her.

My grandma is addicted to her blackberry. She went into the hospital a few weeks ago and needed her laptop because she could not part with her facebook! We all are very close and my children love her. I am glad that she is still sixty five years young because my children will be able to enjoy her! They see her all the time via skype! To bad we live so far away

My dad is in his mid 60's as well, and he's addicted to Facebook.
