Any feedback from smartphone users in the West Bend, WI area would be greatly appreciated. AT&T's coverage maps indicate a strong signal but I am skeptical of any providers maps. I am considering the iphone but I just want some peace of mind as far as the coverage goes. I would like to here from anyone in southeastern Wisconsin. Thanks, Mike

I haven't spent any extended period of time in West Band but have been there many times. The coverage appears to be quite good and actually in all of SE Wisconsin. The 3G covergage does not extend too far north or west of West Bend, so that would be something to keep in mind. IMO about the only you can be sure is to go with AT&T and use the trial period to check out the coverage. There is a restocking fee of 10% the price of the iPhone but that would be a small price to pay compared to being stuck with a phone you couldn't use for 2 years. Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for the response! Do you know of any network overloading or slow service problems in south eastern Wisconsin? When not in a 3G area is the edge network adequate for web browsing? I would probably go with the family plan with 2 phones, minimum minutes for about $129.00 a month, about how much over the plan price should I expect for taxes and fees? Thanks for all your help! Mike

We have had 3G in my area (Racine) since May of 2007, but there is no 3G on the west of the "I", like Lake Geneva, Delavan etc. The coverage on EDGE is adequate but sloooooow, about the third of the speed of 3G, and I get pretty frustrated doing any extended web browsing without 3G. It is still a solid data connection and my E-Mails come in fine. I just checked my bill, and it looks like there is around 10-11% in total taxes. Hope this helps.
