| DSL service is wired. You need a DSL modem with a wireless access point included or a separate router with both wireless and wired network ports. You need a wired connection on your laptop to initially setup the access point.

I have a Siemens Modem and a Linksys router. I am needing to know how to establish the wireless access point for the Toshiba laptop.

To get a wireless connection, need the following equipments: Cable/DSL modem, wireless router, and wifi/wireless card or adapter on your laptop. You definately got the modem from AT&T, but do you know if you have a wireless or wired router? Also, your laptop must have wifi capability. Usually, older laptops (around 5 years or older) doesn't comes with wifi or wireless card. But most laptop nowaday have builtin wifi. If you don't know if you have wifi or not, try and see if it does by going on your laptop: Start>Control Panel>Network Connections. Once you confirm all your equipment, you can set up your router via 192.168.1.1
