Default Repercussions of Canceling with ETF?

If you cancel a line and pay the ETF, will this impose any restrictions on adding a line later?

I have one line with AT&T right now and would like to get an AT&T line for my wife (I can get a refurb Fuze for free with a new line). I'd like to have the option to cancel the line (ETF is fine if I'm getting a Fuze out of it), but still be able to add another line in July or so.

Or would I be better off adding the third line, THEN canceling the second line?

Have you considered adding the line for your wife - get the refurb FUZE for it (it may not be available except for a new line of service); then visit with customer service to see if your line of service qualifies for an early exception upgrade - if so that would be the standard 2 year contract price + $75 in return for signing a new two year agreement.

Assuming you qualify, that seems like the better approach to me if you are after two discounted equipment purchases but actually only need one new line of service.

Unless things have changed recently, the only phone that is not available as an early exception upgrade is the iPhone. (I believe that's still true. (?))

Default Re: Repercussions of Canceling with ETF?

She'd probably want an iPhone in July.

I had her look at the Fuze in store again, and it sounds like she's just going to wait. The Fuze is faster than her Wing, but there were a few things she found really annoying that made her want to just hold off (no camera button, some weird customizations, etc--all of which would probably require me to get on XDA Dev and experiment before it would be usable for her).
