CENTRAL U.S. -- at&t in Northern Michigan

The end of next week I am supposed to be going to a family reunion of my wife's....up outside of Cadillac. I know all the coverage up there used to be Cell One...or I think when I was in St Ignace before it was something like RF Cellular...or RP something...I can't remember what the alpha tag said....but it is all at&t now. Coverage looks spotty up there and I take it at&t is the only available GSM network there?

Coverage should be good, I don't really go by at&t's maps here because although it looks spotty, I get usually 2 'bars' everywhere. Yes, at&t's network is the only GSM network here. The west side of the state is pretty solid coverage (alot better than the east side).

AT&T coverage is pretty decent on the west side of the state and Cadillac is pretty well covered.
Where at in Cadillac are you going to be at?

Its somewhere outside there. I think its Henrietta or Harriet something maybe? I better check with the wife on that!

probably harrietta, harrietta area is alittle weak due to the terrain.

Yep! Right now we are in Cadillac. Can you tell me, does at&t have control of the towers here yet....because our phones still say Off Network here. So will my calls still be considered roaming...or are they hooked to at&t system...just not have the mnc changed yet?

Yes at&t is controlling the network now, don't worry about roaming at all. They have not yet changed the mnc. Have a great day!

Youve have an old SIM flash if it says off Network. The newer Sim flashes say AT&T whether your on a AT&T network or not so its hard to tell when your roaming.

The Alpha Tags have been changed up here and some areas are on MNC 410 but its all AT&T run.

My wife's is a newer sim. We both display Off Network because I had them add the 4EON code to both our accounts....so anytime we are "roaming", it will say Off Network.......so is it possible that we are not on 410 yet here, causing the phone to believe it is roaming thus showing me "Off Network"?

Yes it is possible that you aren't on 410. I live in north eastern Michigan (about 2 hours away from cadillac) and my BlackBerry shows that I am roaming, when really I'm not. They just haven't changed the mnc's yet.

My phone say ATT whether Im on the Dobson Network, Centennial or the regular ATT Network.

If I go into network selection where there is all 3 of the above carriers there will be 3 ATT networks.

I havent been to a Tmobile area as they are pretty thin in MI so I dont know if they show ATT for the Alpha TAG.
