My friend has metro pcs and he got his number changed today. He texed me from his new number, but when i try to text back it says error invalid number. Then it says something about using a valid short code. I have service with AT&T and i'm thinking it might have something to do with my phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? thanks |

Can you give us some more information please: 1. Have you had problem texting with a Metro PCS cutomer before? 2. What phone do you have? If your problem started after your friend changed his number, i would guess that the new number may not have been in the system long enough to be be accessible by non-Metro customers. The new number should be fully functional by 4-24 hours, specially for texting. Are you still having the problem today?

Yes, i've had this problem before. One of my other friends got her number changed. She text me, i tried to text her back, and it said the samething. It was about 2 weeks before i could send her a text to her new number. I have a sony erccison Z520a and yes i'm stll having the same problems today. |

ok i have an update. I found out if i send him a MMS he will get that, but when i try to send a text the invalid number error things puts up. Is something wrong with my phone?

is the number your texting to in the +1(phone number) format or just the 10 digit number?
