Default The color of green

I am thinking about switching to Cingular and was just in a Cingular store where the salesman put my address into a program which supposedly shows true coverage at that address. In my case the answer was the second from the darkest/best? green. He commented that I would have very good coverage.

Does anybody out there have service in the same color who can comment on there service. Do calls get dropped, go directly to voicemail, have poor sound quality, etc.

With my current provider I have the feeling that maybe 10% of my incoming calls go directly to voicemail and that I get dropped on roughly the same percentage of outgoing calls. Enough to be annoyed and want to change providers but I don't want to change if I'm going to get the same results from Cingular.

Any and all comments will be appreciated. Thanks.

from what i have found in using that program it is usually fairly accurate in its representation of the network coverage in the location specified. if you are in a dark green area you will have good coverage

Also remember you have a 30 day trial period with Cingular to see if it will give you the coverage you need.

I know it isn't scientific, but the only dropped calls that I have had with Cingular so far have been when I was driving. Even here in my office where I get -102 to -105DB levels, I can hold a call without dropping it. I haven't seen the Cingular maps like this, but if it is in the second darkest color, I would say that is very good. If you know someone with Cingular, have them over to your place and see how the service is on the phone. Make a few test calls as well if you have the chance. Like Fire mentioned. Take advantage of that 30 day trial period, you should be able to get a good idea if Cingular will meet your needs within this period.

i have both cingular and vzw and constantly compare the 2 networks as i drive to work, and from what i have seen the are almost idnetical in terms of strength, and are very close to the map program used to identify coverage strength, but def take advantage of the 30 day it is your best bet

The darker green levels are usually full signal unless you are deep inside a brick building with no windows or something like that. You have to be in the very light green to get weak reception.
