Question iPhone Activation Question

1. I just want to know if anyone has tried using an address located in an AT&T Partner Network when activating their iPhone through iTunes?

If so, what kinda of message did you get, if any?

2. Also could someone activate an iPhone using a friends address as a billing address (located in an AT&T own market) and then have their billing address change to their actual home address (located in a Partner area)?

I was told that it can be done. Can someone confirm this?

3. If it can be done can you just call Customer Service and have the address changed or do you have to goto and AT&T Store?

With new accounts you have to wait 30 days before you can change your billing address. Most reps disregard this, it's supposed to be to help prevent against fraud but yanno..

Question Re: iPhone Activation Question

Thanks TehJoE234797.

Can the address change be done over the phone or in person at an AT&T store?

Or even better...

What about going online and setting up paperless billing (if AT&T offers this) that way the address wouldn't even have to be changed?

Address changes can be done over the phone, or in the store. Within the first 30 days you have to return to the store though.

You can do it online, sign up for paperless billing. You may still recieve the first bill in the mail but after that you won't get monthly statements you'll just get an email when your bill is able to be viewed online. For my ERP that's how they make us do that, or they charge us $5 per paper bill.

I dunno why anyone would wanna do that. Have service from a provider, simply for the use of a phone. Regardless how cool it might be, the phone bill probably won't be, if the provider doesn't even provide service in ur hometown. At least that's the assumption, since ur obviously wanting to change ur address to activate it. Maybe I'm just missing something.
Then again, maybe $$$ is no object with some people?

When I activated my iphone, att asks for your billing address, and then they ask where you will use the phone the most. I put in my billing address (which is in a non-att area), and then an address in an area where they have att service, and it went through fine. I'm just paying close attention to my roaming minutes, so I don't get a termination letter!

You can also have a feature added to your account called 4EON which changes your alpha tag so that it'll say 'at&t extended" when you're off network.

I am not an employee, but I know if they started charging me for a paper bill I would be mad, BUT I think they need to look at this in another way, they could save money if they offered a $3.00 to $5.00 a month discount on your bill if you do it paperless.

I am sure when you get down to the ink, paper, postage ect... it costs them close to this to print the bills, especially the detailed bills like I get that are 40 pages counting both sides long, which is about 24 sheets & the return envelope & circulars.

I would go for it if they offered a discount to pay online.

I'm sure it'd save them alot of money too, so people get boxes in the mail that contain their bills. People who use alot of minutes or have a kid that does 5,000 text a month and they get all the details. I think the largest bill [in page #'s] I've ever seen is around 600 or so.

So in short, I think that'd be a great idea to give customer's a discount to go paperless.

Yes, they do. I hear you don't get charged every month for it, but at the end of the year they just hit you with a $60 charge for $5 for every paper bill you've received in the past 12 months.

Oh yeah, it's definately confirmed. They tried to slap me with charges for the first 2 bills I got. You know how when you make any changes to the paper billing it takes 1-2 cycle? Phuck that, just kept complaining and they credited it.

Another thing, you're a call center rep right? What region are you in? I'm in South Central and we just got this new application for monitoring our feature sames. It's kick ___, shows what day you added the feature, the CTN, the price it cost, how much you made off of it, and your total feature sales for that month.

Beats the ____ out of trying to keep a log of all that stuff.
