1. Had to call Cingular today to do an XBM on my month old Sony Ericsson W810i. There is an issue with the camera. I will probably be sent a refurbished beat up POS that is in no way comparable to my near mint condition W810i. 2. Had to call Cingular today to switch our plan from 2100 Family Plan to 700 Family Plan, because my wife quit the job that was paying for our wireless service (job expense). It was so nice not having to worry about going over on minutes. We also lost nearly 3300 rollover minutes that were accrued. On a good note, both calls to Cingular were handled extremely well, with professional ENGLISH speaking representatives. I was used to calling Sprint Third World customer service, who we were with previously.

No, they run that call center out of a shack in the middle of nowhere near a burned out bunker somewhere in the middle east.

While I've never had a rude customer service rep at cingular... i've most certainly had some morons on the other end. I would rather have a knowledgeable person who was a little rude over a "nice" csr that goes and screws something up on my account.

I called last Friday for the Subsidy unlock code on my Pearl and was told will get an email for that in 5 to 6 business days. On Tuesday afternoon I got a call from them and they gave it to me. They did not have to to call but I think that was great. After that call I thought that I would not be receiving an email well, the next day an email with the info was there too. Not bad, I am very happy about this. Oh yes, I thought some of the call centers for XBM are not in the middle east but are a few thousand eastern miles away from there or from Canada. The last time I had to deal with XBM, it was a well spoken English person who answered the call and who was very courtious. |

I haven't had a single rude rep on the phone with Cingular yet. Now, in the store, different story. They kind of have an attitude, especially when they find out that you might know a thing or two about the phone, god forbid, maybe more than they do. I remember going in when my wife purchased her BB Pearl. I was bs'ing with one of the guys, asking him about the iPhone, and what he thought about it. I then made the mistake of telling him that I had an iPhone skin on my RAZR. He said that it was impossible, so I showed him. I also told him that the phone had been flashed with a monsterpack, and various other mods had been done to it. He said that was also impossible. Really? I have proof of it (well not anymore, I sold the phone last week) but you get the idea. Even with him looking at the phone, and playing with it, he still did not believe that I was able to load a skin onto the phone. He thought it was just a complex wallpaper that made the font look completely different than the regular font, and the icons also. I had a good laugh at that one.

Well one has to remember, some of the reps are not into it like we are and have no idea outside what they see in front of them. By me a few wait to see what I have so they can follow what I did. Actually one rep, used to bring his laptop in with him, and when some customers came in and complained about the volume on the Moto phone they bought he did the gain table for them and they left very happy. He said the 2 minutes he spent on this was a lot better than the 30 minutes that would have been lost to exchange the phone as many of the customers try to go with another model and it would take them time to make up their mind. So in a sense, he really did good and his service earned him a lot of referrals from those satisfied customers. If they ever run into some thing that they are not comfortable with they do call me at times to ask for advise and that is good too and I don't mind it.

| I've always had good luck with Cingular's CS as well. Every time I have called them they were polite and always stayed on the line with me for as long as it took to get my issue resolved. I've even received a call back from them on occasion just to inquire if I was still experiencing any problems. That is truly A+ customer service .
