Hi, I recently purchased an unlocked Razr V3 and switched my Cingular Sim card into it. Everything seems to be working fine except the Media Net. I set up the browser using the settings on the the Cingular Support page. When I connect to Media Net and the browser comes up, the first page shows this: prev rectl_0:sbxfc:txtsearch [] Search If I select "prev", then it takes me to what is the main Media Net page. But, at the very top, it says "Accept". If I scroll down, the page will scroll down but none of the selections are highlighted, so I can't select them. The only thing I can select on this page is "accept". It doesn't say "MediaNet Home" at the top. If I pick "Home" from the Browser Menu, then it takes me back to the page that starts with "prev". If I select "Go to URL" and type in a URL, like www.espn.com, then it goes to the website and evrything works normally. It's just that Media Net is not pulling up correctly, which is frustrating, but not a disaster as I can get to websites just fine. But it does make it impossible to scroll down and check the weather, new ringtones and games and to check my account. I've double and triple checked my settings and even called a friend who has a Cingular branded V3 and she confirmed that my settings are correct, so I'm at a loss as to why MediaNet won't load correctly. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi Jay, Yea, I've checked that about a dozen times, and it's definitely correct. That's what makes this so frustrating-I've got the exact settings that Cingular recommends and it won't work correctly. If I choose "Go to URL" and go to, say, ESPN, then I can scroll around there normally. At the bottom of the ESPN page, it gives me the option to return to the Media Net Home or add the ESPN site to my Media Net Home page. If I try to add the site to my Media Net page, then a page comes up that simply says "Submit" at the top. If click "Media Net Home", then I'm back at square one at the page starting with "prev". At the bottom of the ESPN page is a "Help" selection. If I select this, I get a "404: Page cannot be found" error. I guess if there were a way to save favorite websites without having to add them to the the Media Net Home page, I could go without the Media Net Home working correctly, but having to type in urls for each website is a headache. Thanks for the suggestion, though. |

Hi Jay, OK, I figured out how to set up webpage shortcuts-thanks for that! Even though I have "http://device.home" as my home page in the settings, the page that comes up has the url "http://device.home#_ _card2" (this is the page with "prev" at the top). The page that most closely resembles the actual Media Net Home page has this url: "http://device.home#_ _card4" . I tried using the auto-configure utility on Cingular's site. When I got the Browser message and typed in the PIN, a messege shows on my phone (briefly) that says "Web Sessions exceeded" (I'm on the pay-per-use plan currently) or something like that, and the auto-configure doesn't continue. Jay, That does seem to be the problem. However, the sessions on my phone, with the exception of the one I created, can't be deleted. The only choices I get when selecting them is "Set as Default" and "Edit". I did delete my Cingular session to create a free slot and tried the auto-configure again, but now, even though the Cingular site says that the settings will be delivered shortly, I never get a call. I've tried a bunch of times and can't get Cingular to send me the browser message. I tried editing one of the existing sessions, but I can change everything but the name, and it still won't connect using that session, so I guess the name has to be "Cingular" or "Media Net". I guess I'll keep trying the auto-configure and if that doesn't work, I'll re-create a Cingular session and just muddle along. Bill |

In regards to MediaNet, their homepage has been down several days on my PDA, you can check it via your pc's browser, http://cingular.infospace.com is what my usual problem is. Who knows maybe this is just a problem with me because of Device, any other takers?

Ok, I finally have my Media Net working properly. I went to the Cingular support forums and poked around to see if I could find anything relating to my problem. I saw where a couple of folks who had unlocked phones couldn't get Media Net to work using the V3 setting, but had been successful using the setting for the V557. So, I set up a session using the V557 settings, and lo and behold, Media Net is working like a charm. Very happy about that, and I got my bluetooth headset today and set it up along with voice dialing. It's a long way from my old Samsung. |

| Wirelessly posted (AWE T637: SonyEricssonT637/R101 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 UP.Link/5.1.2.9) Regarding getting to MediaNet, I haven't been able to get there using my device since Thursday. I use variations of the infospace url since I'm an mmode user. I've been getting "cannot connect to site" messages. Also I don't have the same phone as the OP has. So is this an outage or some kind of new block by Cingular to keep "outsiders" out of MediaNet? I would like to at least use, for example, the weather channel, since mmode's WC link is useless. |
