Default Can I put my Cing. 2125 Sim in a MOTO Q

I would like to switch phones from a cingular 2125 to a Motorola Q. If I purchase an unlocked Q, will my cingular sim work in this phone, and will it work with the cingular network?

Thanks,
Marty

No. You can not use a Q on the cingular network as of right now. Verizon is the only carrier offering the Q and has it exclusive for a few months at least i think.

As to buying a verizon one and using it on the cingular network that is not possible as they use two different cellular technologies, and Verizon phones dont even have sim card slots.

Your only options are to switch providers or wait until cingular gets this phone, if ever.

Currently the Q is only available in a CDMA model. Cingular does not offer CDMA service so I am sorry, it will not work.

Only when the GSM version of the Q is available.

Verizon is CDMA, which does not use a SIM card.

There are a few phone seller sites that are taking orders for the GSM version of the Q, but beware, the prices are VERY high.

You are dealing with different incomptaible technologies, and, besides, Verizon, which is CDMA, doesn't use SIM cards, so you have no place to put the SIM.

I am only speaking about the GSM version of the Q. Here is an example: Mobile City Online
