Have you ever been told that people get this recording when they try to reach you? I have been..... Now, I must say that I have never been late making any of my payments to Cingular or any other creditors in my life. (ok...maybe since collage The reason why I am posting here is because a coworker of mine mentioned that it only happens with Cingular lines. Is there any truth to his statement, does this happen with other carriers as well? I welcome all your comments and thank you in advance for your time. |

It can happen on any network depending on the callers location in relation to their home area and if they did 10digit dialing or not. For example, say your number is 8185551212 and my number is 8185551213. Now I'm physically in the 626 area code and I try to dial your number 5551212 I can get that message sometimes. But if I redial it with the area code it goes through perfectly. |

Even so, if my exchange doesn't exist in her area code, she should get a message to dial 1 and the area code. If my exchange does exist in her area and that number happens to be disconnected, I could see where she might get this message. This is easy to test, obviously. If something else is going on, and Cingular gives this message when the call doesn't go through for other reasons, that would be bad indeed. | |

There is one person who has the same area code as me but I dial 10 digits anyway from my contact list, that I have got that message more than once. I call from my home area and when I told him about it and he said that a few other people have also complained and he has no clue what is going on. We are both on Cingular.

This scares me as I am on the doorstep to a new job, all I need is HR call me for further instructions and have this happen.

Cingular circuits have been known to overload easily......Consumer Reports commented on it.........but if your having a problem like theat it definitely is a problem with Cingular because the call is routed to a Cingular Mobile Telephone Switch and it would be Cingular delivering that message i say you all call and submit a trouble tickets.
