I am currently a Sprint customer at the end of my contract. I am considering buying an unlocked GSM HP hw6915. If I visit my friendly and helpful (?!) Cingular store, will I be able to sign-up for a contract with no phone and get a SIM card to pop into my new phone? Just curious if I will be looked down upon (or just with confusion and dismay) by Cingular? In other words, is it any problem with sign up for a new contract without also buying a phone? Thanks! |

Well, if you're going to sign a contract take the free phone and sell it on Ebay or use it as a backup. If you take the moto V557 you can get over $125 selling it new on Ebay which will help pay for your HP iPAQ. The V557 also works very well in low signal areas, I use my Moto V551 as a backup in low signal areas as my iPAQ doesn't work well w/ low signal. -Jay |

If you bring your own equipment, you can actually go no-commitment. Most reps will play dumb--for good reason--because they do not make any commission from this option, but it does exists or, rather, used to exist. You will lose so-called promotion features (whatever they are currently), but you can go no contract. Only Cingular offers/offered (?) this option.

you will get some token resistance,... however Cingular will not provide any technical assistance for the device as they dont sell it... but if you go to this site... https://onlinecare.cingular.com/supp...gular&make=All tell it that you have a 6515... (same settings) manually apply the settings it will work | |
