Question Incoming call charge question

If I am in my home area and I get an incoming international call, what charge do I incur? Assuming it is daytime, does it just get deducted from my anytime minutes (and likewise from NW for nighttime/weekends)? Or do I pay some international rate? I looked through the Cingular website but they don't have any information on rates for incoming calls from abroad.

By the way, do I have to do anything specifc to enable incoming international call receipt?

Yeah, I believe WG is correct. The origin of the call does not matter. The call will be treated as any other incoming call, as either peak or N&W. Only outgoing international calls are billed differently.

Cool.... that's what I thought... just wanted to make sure, since the outgoing calls are so expensive. Didn't want to get socked with a $2.49/min charge

Srumhalf, as others have mentioned, it comes out of the pool, no extra charges. My landline is call-forwarded to my cell, and so far no international incoming call has been charged extra.

Thanks, Charlyee! Everyone at home except me is heading to India in early July and this way, my wife can just call my mobile # anytime. I'll head out a couple of weeks later, so it's two weeks of the bachelor's life for me!

This is the first time in 11 years of married bliss that my wife and I will be apart for so long - I am kinda looking forward to working late, eating out every day, etc. etc....

Oh I see WG, yours is forwarded all the time. I am not quite that bad . I have my landline forward to my cell, only if "no answer" or "busy".

Scrumhalf,

My family is scattered around the world and only call me on my cellphone. I don't know of any company(and for sure not one I've had in the past) that charges you extra for calls received from outside the country. It will just deduct from either your peak minutes or off-peak minutes depending on what time call was received of course. Hope this helps.

The phone system doesn't care of the origin of an incoming call. It only cares about the destination of outgoing calls.

If you are roaming, then of course, the rules are different.
