Yep go to http://www.wirelessadvisor.com, enter your ZIP Code in the top, middle part of the main page and press Search. The site will then tell you which frequencies are used by what providers in that area.

Stick to a phone that has 850. Skip the Euro-phones

Your Razr is quad-band, but your 6170b is not. Kenya's primary frequency is 900, which is lacking on the v170b. Why not use your Razr in Kenya (once you get it unlocked)? |

You need a euro triband or a quad band phone. But I don't know what service there is in Nairobi | |

According to GSM World, Celtel Kenya is GSM 900-only and Safaricom (partially owned by Vodafone) is GSM 900/1800: http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/cou_ke.shtml
