Default Question regarding frequency.....

Hey guys, im about to buy a SE W800, and i understand that cingular operates in 850 frequency...but i also heard that it works on 1900 as well. I live in omaha, nebraska, and I was wondering if there is a way i can tell which frequency is used HERE??

Yep go to http://www.wirelessadvisor.com, enter your ZIP Code in the top, middle part of the main page and press Search. The site will then tell you which frequencies are used by what providers in that area.

1900MHz, but I hope you don't have to travel outside of your area, because the W800 will not serve you will everywhere. You can opt for a W810i, since it's quad-band.

Hello,
I bought a Nokia 6170b phone it is unlocked, but it keeps loosing the frequency after some times I travel outside of my area into Nairobi, Africa. Could some one advice it's quad-band.

Your Razr is quad-band, but your 6170b is not.
Kenya's primary frequency is 900, which is lacking on the v170b.

Why not use your Razr in Kenya (once you get it unlocked)?

The 'b' in the 6170b means it is triband for the US market. So it does not have the Euroasia 900mhz band, only the 1800mhz band. That could be your problem.

You need a euro triband or a quad band phone. But I don't know what service there is in Nairobi

According to GSM World, Celtel Kenya is GSM 900-only and Safaricom (partially owned by Vodafone) is GSM 900/1800:
