hello everyone....i'm new to this message board and hoping someone can help me out. I had a Nokia 3595 through ATT. I recently purchased an unlocked LG C2000. I put my SIM from the Nokia into the LG and i can make and recieve calls. The only two problems I have is that I can't send or receive pictures, and I cant connect to MediaNet. When I try to connect, it says "no gprs". From some forums i've read, it's not possible to connect because of my ATT SIM. Other Forums say I can if I have the right setup. Can anyone shed some light on this? THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE! mike |

I assume you have gone to this Cingular web page https://onlinecare.cingular.com/devi...C2000&x=13&y=9 It shows how to set up media works and multimedia settings for your LG C2000 phone. That would be the first approach. You need specific Cingular site information in order to get connected. That would be one explaination for the ' no gprs' error. If you could access with the 3595 ok, then the LG should work fine. Of course, you must have MediaNet activated by Cingular first. You need a username and password. If you haven't done that, that is the first step. Go to the Cingular web page or call C/S. It that doesn't work, call Cingular C/S, they should help you through it or at least answer your ATT SIM question | |

Looking at Cingular's web pages some more, it seems that former ATT customers are supported for MMS and internet browsing. However the settings are different and you need to be signed up for m-mode. Sort of a twin path that Cingular has. I didn't see the LG c2000 listed, but it will work, it only needs the right settings and for you to be signed up for the service. I think you had better call C/S or view the on-line web pages at www.cingular.com, for former ATT customers. Unless you found some specific help on other forums. It seems that will be able to send MMS and access the web with the LG through the proper aTT settings, but to use Cingular 'mediaNet' you probably need to switch to a Cingular plan. |
