Cingular Hits Customer Milestone By Susan Rush August 19, 2004 news@2 direct Cingular Wireless will be rolling out the red carpet in Boston on Friday to celebrate its 25 millionth wireless customer. Area resident John Brooks III will be awarded free Motorola wireless equipment at a Cingular Wireless store in Boston. Brooks also will be on hand to help the carrier present a $2,500 donation to a local children's charity on his behalf. Cingular is in the midst of trying to close its pending acquisition of AT&T Wireless. Once the merger is complete, the combined entity will have roughly 46 million customers, surpassing Verizon Wireless as the top U.S. carrier in terms of subscriber numbers. The marketing, logo, and etc.... still should be the same as it is now. I doubt you will even hear or see of this so called "Cingular Blue".

I seriously doubt Cingular will change their logo in any way. Cingular is a company big on branding. I think you'll continue to see the orange jack. |

I hope, that when the merge is complete, that they make the Cingular jack blue and have their colors be blue and orange because they wouldn't have the customers they will have if it wasn't for the AT&T one's staying. That's the least they could do, use blue and tweak it where it looks like they merged not like if Cingular bought AT&T. I hope that came out right.

As for unlocked phones, you are beginning to see the trend already. AT&T is selling some phones unlocked already. I am not sure how they will handle those who want to use an old AT&T locked phone with a new Cingular SIM. Maybe they will just unlock them for you so you can put the Cingular SIM. This I don't know.

Why bother changing something temporarily then reverting back? Ugh... No way Cingular can be that stupid.

TNDan, Cingular won't be reverting back to orange because they are not changing anything. It is AT&T Wireless who's changing. Etorres777, with Cingular you have to wait until the end of your 1-yr commitment to be elegible for upgrade. If you are on a 2-yr commitment, you must wait until the 21st month. Now, if you come from AT&T Wireless, I assume that the terms of your AT&T Wireless cotract will dictate when you will be elegible.

They (Cingular) should change their logo simply to an orange Cingular Jack inside of a blue circle (representing AT&T). Not with the stripes, but just a blue circle. That's just my opinion. CingulATT would be a cool name, too.

I have noticed the AT&T Corp stores have been changing to Orange & Blue and i heard they will be keeping the Corp stores so maybe they will be going with both colors, which is a good combo.
