When will cingular come out with an updated coverage map. The last map I saw was like from october 05 and I was wondering with all of these network integrations/upgrades available how coverage in some areas look or perfomrs.

It took Sprint forever though to update those coverage maps. They had the same maps on for too long until the October update.

The latest Cingular map doesn't show service in my hometown (even though we had service here maybe a month or two before that was released)

Assuming all the integrations are factored in, the current combined colors or shades should give an indication of Dec 2005 coverage. I just wish it had better resolution or zoom control. But I understand you can get that in a cingular store, on their computer screen. | |

I wonder if Cingular is going to issue new maps again when integration is complete. I know that the network will operate a lot more smoothly at that time. -Jay

Ok, I can be kinda slow at these things, but has anyone noticed this Cingular coverage web page before? http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/cel..._mapfinder.jsp It shows national, data (edge, gprs), go phone coverage maps. And if you type in your zip code, it will give the regional gsm coverage. Simple one place map location. |

Another neat international interactive coverage site http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/tra...ash/index.html And one page for India that is neat...need to find this for other countries too. http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/tra...L=356&MNC=CING Somehow I think this is not quite finished yet. EDIT: whoops the last page (india) is just the updated details on international roaming for all countries...an improvement : http://www.cingular.com/customer_service/roaming_gen |

Updated coverage maps from all carriers would be a nice thing. Consider that any public coverage map will show estimated coverage for a service area, likely never will an engineering map be made public...

I agree with Walkguru. After all, those maps are based on mathematical predictions. And there are several factors that may affect signal reception. And there could be a cell site outage at any given time. Also providers specify that for roaming purposes is the location of the cell site that receives the call that matters and not the location of the caller.
