Very neat, I like the first SE handset with the crisp outer display. Is there any word about which UMTS 1900 handsets will replace the Nokia 6651 and Motorola A845?

I saw the SE z520 in the Bestbuy Sunday circular of the local newspaper this weekend. Phone Scoop sez this is the replacement for the z500. I like my z500. Great reception. |

RIM BlackBerry 8700c ![]() Cingular will have the world exclusive of the fastest Blackberry yet. It is the first BB to use an Intel chip and run on the EDGE network. It will pop up through other carriers around the world later on next year. Price will be $299 after mail-in rebate with a 2 yr. contract. Pretty good subsidy for such a nice BB unit. It will be available only through Cingular beginning November 21 in retail stores, via http://www.cingular.com/, and through Cingular's B2B sales organization and authorized Cingular dealers. Some of the features: GSM Quad band 850/900/1800/1900 EDGE Class 10 Bluetooth capable Integrated speakerphone Polyphonic and MP3 ring tones 2 Customizable Convenience Keys for fast access to favorite sites Mini USB port Full QWERTY keyboard 320 x 240 (1/4 VGA) Color LCD 312 MHz Intel Processor Memory: 16MB RAM / 64MB Flash More highlights: - The Cingular 8700c will have two Web Browsers, the 'Cingular Media Net' and the new 'RIM Blackberry Browser'. - Intel Processor improves performance beyond what you'll expect. Making it possible for 3rd party software Developers to design more processor intensive software apps. - Although the screen is much better quality and a faster Intel processor the Blackberry will still have the same Battery life performance as prior models. - Phone experience improved tremendously! - Landscape QVGA (320x240) LCD with auto light multiple level adjusting screen backlight. - San Francisco and Chicago to receive product launch event this week also. - Dimension 4.3 in hight by .77 of an inch in thickness! http://www.cingular.com/blackberry8700c

yeah...I guess Nokia is starting to realize that 850 is just as important as 1900. Either that or Cingular is finally putting pressure on these hard-headed manufacturers.

Nop...the phone some people called the RAZR 2 is now called V3x which is a UMTS phone for Euro-Asian markets. I'm not sure if it will make it to the US.

No see that is where the confusion came from. The RAZR 2 was NOT a UMTS phone, but it a GSM update to the original RAZR. This is it. http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000913060184/ Quote:

Hehe....there's more to it than that. I've also seen the V3x called RAZR2 which was originally known as the V1150. Whatever the source of the confusion was, the RAZR 2 has never been an official name for any phone. It was just a rumored named that floated around the Internet. It is not surprising that it was used for two different, yet similar looking, phones.

Over on Phonescoop.com, the V551 has 4 different model numbers which is the most I've seen for one model even if it has slight variations with the identical hardware.
