Any word on the Nokia 6125 / 6126 for Cingular? The 6125 was announced back in January for 2nd quarter release. The 6126 is apparently the US version of the new 6131, also for Q2. They seem pretty similar to me (quadband GSM, Edge, Bluetooth, flip) and I'd like to get my hands on either one. Thanks, SteveW |

I now want the Samsung d407. That phone looks awesome. Maybe this one will convince me that Samsung doesn't suck.

Bobolito - So does the lack of the Nokia N80 on this post mean that it will come out after the 6282? I know this is all speculative. Thanks, SteveW Last edited by SteveW; 04-13-2006 at 4:24 PM. |

I was told the N80 was scrapped and then some other source shed a ray of hope on the N80 for the second quarter. With conflicting reports I chose not to put it in here. If later on I get something more concrete I will post it.

At CTIA, a Nokia rep told me that Cingular had scrapped the N80. However, he said it would be available unlocked from Nokia directly. No contract discount, obviously, but it will be available.

The V3 is $79 after rebates on the Cingular site. Could they be trying to move them to make room for something new? I hope its the e2.

Definitely some nice phone. Too bad data will be so expensive on it. Kinda like Verizon, everyone on Verizon seems to have a really nice phone, but can't do squat with it (no EVDO) here.

I just hope it's one of those "early adopter" schemes and the price will go down eventually to the point where it's actually worth it.

To me all that talk about ARPU being too low is 100% pure grade BS. If Cingular is making $48 per customer on average that seems pretty good to me. That's almost 9 BILLION dollars per every damn quarter! How can they say they aren't making money? One thing is not making enough money and another one is spending too much. To me, what's happening here is that Stan Sigman wants a new Mercedes Benz every month.

They are spending a lot of money, since their quaterly report showed over $8 Billion in expense's last Quater, now if they keep building their network at $6 Billion per Qtr then it would be understandable

You can figure how much they are spending on the network when you calculate that $6 billion were spent on the network for the entire year but total expenses for a year are about $8B x 4 = $32B 6/32 = 18.75% That means only approx. 18% of their expenses are for the network! I wonder where the other 82% of the expenses are going to. I know there are salaries to pay, building expenses, rent expenses, equipment expenses, IT expenses, maitenance expenses, etc. but I just wonder how much of that is going to Sigman's salary and luxuries.

So does a July launch for the 6126 mean that the Nokia 6125 probably will not be released by Cingular? The 6125 is listed on PhoneScoop for possible Q2 release, but it seems that the 6126 has the same main features + bigger, better displays. Thanks, SteveW
