| I am in a bit of a dilemma...I purchased an ATT (Audiovox) PDA phone approx 2 yrs ago, and I now want to get a family plan and purchase an additional phone for my wife. The problem is that in Feb 06 my plan is complete and I will be forced to miograte to Cingular, I was informed that my phone is no longer usable on the Cingular network, since it was rather expensive, I obviously am not interested in purchasing a new phone. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I might fix this problem? Are these phone usable on any other network? |

| Which Audiovox model is it? About the only reason for Cingular to say that, was that it has only the GSM 1900 MHz band for North America and lacks the 850 MHz band. If your coverage is satisfactory, then you might wish to have it unlocked by a third party. You should search for this service yourself. Thereafter, you could use an orange Cingular SIM (and rate plan with rollover) instead of your existing blue ATTWS SIM. While your PDA phone was away, simply put your SIM in another ATTWS or unlocked GSM phone. Or study the available PDA phone on the Cingular website. There are several refurbished models available, including the Treo 650 for $139.99. COtech

| Hey Tripy.. nice to see you here! I kinda doubt we'll see the V3x at all, at least from Cingular. By the way, I read there are plans to release another V3 with EDGE, but I don't think it will be anytime soon.

| Tripy, thanks for posting the image, and no I did not know that the phone had been out for about a month now. I was going by the article on MSNBC's site that said the phone was being released on Wednesday. Darn, thought I had a scoop for WA peeps, guess not. Thanks again |

| the v3x looks pretty sweet, but what would we do with a UMTS phone if we have no real UMTS service here yet? one would not use ther phone at its full potential, which kind'a makes it overkill.
