I upgraded my rate plan from 450 anytime/5000 n&w minutes to the 900 anytime w/ rollover and unlimited n&w minutes. I was 40 minutes away from going over this past month, and I have already talked for 87 minutes (daytime) so far this month (my billing cycle just started four days ago). Do I have to wait until my next billing cycle for these minutes to take effect? Or can I start using them right away? TIA

Usually a new rate plan doesn't kick in until your next billing cycle begins. Sometimes I've seen it prorated, and once they made a rate plan retroactive for me. Check your OLAM, it should say whether you have a rate plan change scheduled, or it will list the start date of your current plan.

I need to call Cingular. I just looked to at my bill, and it says that I owe $299.89. I bet the idiots charged me for data even though that I have the unlimited media net on my plan. Should I call them now, or what to call them once I get my bill? I can't even check to see what my current bill is online and I also have not received it in the mail.

If the bill has not printed out yet, there's not much they will do until it is calculated and printed. If you change rate plans, at least in my area, the new plan takes effect right away. No need to wait until the end of the cycle, and it is not prorated!

When I switched and uped my plan it took effect the same day. I asked the clerk to make sure before I left the store.
