Our statement no longer credits us with the discount we were offered (and enjoyed for several months) when we signed up. Instead we are being credited with a lower discount. Our calls to Cingular haven't given us any satisfaction so I'm asking for guidance. Here's the deal. We made it clear to the salesman that we were shopping among wireless providers. At his initiative he offered us a significant discount, as in "here's what I can do for you". We accepted his offer and enjoyed the discount. It turns out he filled out the order stating we worked for a company for which we do not work. But at no time did we claim we did work for that company. All we did was accept his proposed terms. Now Cingular wants to remove the discount AND hold us to the 2 year term of the contract. We feel the contract binds both parties, and if their original terms no longer hold for the discount we should also be liberated from the two year term. Isn't what's good for the goose also good for the gander? How should we proceed? and thanks in advance for your thoughts. |

There are a few ways to go about it. 1 Read the terms of the contract. Some providers have a clause where they can change your plan and you have a short period of time to cancel without fees. 2 See if they will work out a reduction in cancelation fees. They might. 3 Go back to store and see what they can do for you. You need to look at your contract if it says you worked for a company and you don't Cingular has no obligation to do anything. You lied if you signed a contract and you knew the information was false. |
