Hey there.... I am having major issues with my Nokia 6230 telephone. It turns itself off consistantly, keypad jams up, etc. I called Cingular to see about getting a new telephone, and they told me that it is still covered under warranty. I asked about getting a Nokia 6682. They advised me that I can not get that phone, and the best deal they could offer me on the phone was $399.99. If the 6230 is discontinued - why won't they offer me a better deal than that? Especially if they KNOW of problems with this phone? Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can handle this? Should I ask them for a replacement phone and then sell it on EBay to make back some money? Rob |

Cingular rubbed me the wrong way on the same thing. They offered to give me a moto 551 or a siemens s66 (had no EDGE support). I thought they were both crappy replacements for the nokia 6230. I heard at one point some people got good replacements depending on who they talked to at cingular XBM.

They technically don't have to offer any replacement and could refer you to Nokia. The terms and conditions of a cellular contract are not very favorable to the consumers.

If it is under warrenty, why not go direct to Nokia, at least try. The info is on the web page, nokiausa.com
