    Not unless it's jailbroken/unlocked.
PacTel Cellular (1994) became AIRTOUCH (1994-2000) which became verizonwireless (2000-Present)

As far as I know the original iPhone (2G) can still be used on AT&Ticon's prepaid service (Pick Your Plan). It was originally sold with Pick Your Plan prepaid accounts, and to my understanding there continues to be a specific Pick Your Plan data plan available for it.

AT&Ticon's terms do not allow the iPhone 3G or 3GS to be used with AT&Ticon's prepaid service.

I am using the original iphone on an AT&Ticon pick-your-plan account.

They chargeicon the 'regular' voice rates (I pay $30 for 200 min/mo), plus $20/mo for iphone/unlimited-data features.

Supposedly, it can be done on the pay-as-you-go plan as well, but they don't recommend you do it because you have to add the data feature EVERY MONTH, otherwise you get billed per KB....
