Default Something bad happened,Does this happen often?

im new to the iphone only had it like 2 days. But last night I found out how to add songs from itunes on my pc to my iphone. So I got all my songs on it last night,Went fine. Today was adding some new songs going good, then as it was synching up it said there was a new update for iphone,so I agreed to update it was updating then stopped and said it encountered problems and froze up my iphone. Then it said only way to reset it is to restore it to default settings on phone,So it removed EVERYTHING! All my songs, contacts and apps.
So I went back to get my songs back on it and synced up and it restored everything except my apps? Most were free apps, but I had few that I bought,Is there anything that I can do about it?
Im pissed but it was only like $5 bux im out,But what if I would have bought that $100 navigation app,Would you just be stuck?

Just download the appls again. Apple knows that you bought already. Once you get a successful backup with iTunes, the appls reside on your pc, and you can restore them from there...even if you erase them all on your phone.

Yeah, that's the one good thing about a paid app from iTunes is that Apple keeps track of which phones are authorized to download them. Though next time, you should backup you iPhone in the future much like a computer just in case.

Well, I think you need to stop by the Apple Genius store and get some help. They should get you set up.
