signal problems roaming on verizon

i have an alltel LG ax565 that i use in columbus, ohio, where it's roaming onto verizon's network. i recently broke the screen on my 565 and bought a used one to replace it. i activated the new phone with alltel and everything worked fine for a few days until yesterday. since then, it has been showing minimal signal (0-2 bars), and even if it shows more, it won't send texts or make calls more often than not. it takes three or four tries to get a call to go through or to send texts. i don't know why it suddenly stopped working... any ideas?

It sounds like a phone issue to me... have you tried calling alltel to troubleshoot? Perhaps the phone needs a PRL update.
