Default Help please

My wife and I both have Blackberry Curves which we have had for about 4 months. We both have been using them for the teathering service with great success, Until last week, my phone has been switching between EV and 1X every few seconds. My connection speeds are worse than dial-up. My wife's phone is unchanged. It keeps a constant EV with full bars, even when the phones are side by side my conncection is worse.

I was with alltel but my area just switched to Verison. If that had something to do with it i would think it would effect both phones. If anyone has any advice for me on how to fix this problem i would be greatfull. Thanks.

You are correct in surmising this has nothing to do with your recent conversion to Verizon Wireless (those who work for VZW are picky about that and do not like being called Verizon, btw - thought I'd throw that in there). The only thing that happened at that point was that the billing system changed from something called V2 in Alltel to Vision in VZW. That has absolutely no effect on the service with your phone.

However, one phone may have more up-to-date software than the other, which can make a difference. You might try calling *228 from the phone with the performance problems and take option 2. ONLY DO THIS IN YOUR HOME CALLING AREA THOUGH.

I got the problem fixed thanks to tech support. We did a complete wipe and a few battery pulls, but what did it was deleteing 2 3rd party apps i had. I have no clue why one of them were bugging out since i hadn;t used either for months. Anyway thanks for the help fellas.
