Alltel upgrade

Good afternoon,
I am new to the forum and have a question about the Alltel to Verizon conversion. I currently have the Alltel family plan with 900 minutes and 4 phones on the plan. My contract is already up, and do not want to sign another two year contract due to possible job loss with the economy. We just added the connect 4 package to one of the phones. Now the phone has quit working. I am trying to find a phone that will work with the connect 4 package when Alltel switches to Verizon. I have read that a Blackberry would not work. Would the Motorokr Z6 still work when they change over??? That was one of the phones I was looking at, but I am open to any other ideas. I am looking to buy off of ebay or somewhere else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Blackberry phones are special and require a plan designed specifically for them. So any other phone should work. Right now I have a Diamond on the same plan and just have unlimited texting and am judicious with my use of data.
