This is kinda shameless self-promotion (I hope that's okay) but I wrote up my thoughts on this at Mark's World - What do you guys think?

not bad, you took an honest un-biased approach.

the 35km thing is true but GSM can run well if tweeked out to 90km. AT&T does it here in michigan and it works well.

off topic but in your other Blog about Ubuntu, the netbook craze got me interested in ubuntu and i have been using it for about 6 month as a dual boot.

I just took an old Dell laptop and load only ubuntu and it runs like a champ, it can even open Excel 2007 files with ease.

So far the things I can't do in Linux that are deal-breakers:

1. Tethered shooting with my Canon EOS Rebel XT camera
2. Print to my Canon Selphy ES30 dye sub printer (except through Bluetooth)
3. Google video chat

Even 2 is forgivable since Bluetooth would work, if slow. So it's 1 and 3 are the killers...

Canon doesn't support Linux at all, does that make them anti-Linux though or just couldn't care less...?
