Default So what changed, Alltel or Phonezoo.

So, I used to easily download ringtones from PhoneZoo. They would come as a MMS message and it was easy to put it on my phone.

Phonezoo says Alltel now is blocking content... I think, it only says that when you try and change your phone.

So, was it PhoneZoo, the DRMA, or Alltel being greedy that makes it no longer work?

Sorry in advance, I've had a cellphone for 14 years but am a total noob when it comes to downloading ringtones.

I think it sucks, I have the same issue. Guess either no more free ringtones, or no more Alltel.

No alltel phone, except smartphones, will allow you to set ringtones unless they were bought from alltel. They claim it is is DRM but i think it s a combo of alltel and DRM restrictions.

You have probably gotten a firmware update or something that included the new block. Sucks I know.

My guess is it has something to do with Verizon buying Alltel. Verizon doesn't like outside media on their phones (I think because they don't make money on it).

Yeah, we kinda got off track... because I didn't explain myself well. PhoneZoo will no longer even send messages to Alltel phones. It now says Alltel has block their content when you try to set it up. [but it worked a few weeks ago]

My question I guess is... Did Alltel really make them cease and desist... or did PhoneZoo no longer want to offer the services to Alltel customers... or was it simply part of the laws passed that they had to stop doing it.

If I would were to bet on it I'd say that Verizon told them to stop...
